JOB-HALFDAY

Toronto, Ontario

Half a day is honest. A full day is usually padding.

You do not need eight hours in a round room. You need a timed entry that matches the sky, a walk you have actually measured, and a backup if the deck is a white box. Two sample shapes follow.

The walk from Union

From Union Station to the tower podium is about fifteen to twenty minutes at a city walk, longer with a stroller or a January wind off the lake. You are walking south through the rail lands. It is not a mystery hike. It is also not "right outside the train." If your timed entry window is thirty minutes, do not step off a late GO train and assume the gate will wait because you can see the mast.

Itinerary A — family morning

ClockMove
09:10Off the train at Union. Washrooms there, not in the first lobby crush.
09:15–09:35Walk south. If you cannot see the upper mast cleanly, read Weather and consider spending the morning at ground level instead.
09:40In the arrival window. Phones bright. QR code ready. No debate at the door.
10:00–10:20Lifts. Fifty-eight seconds of ride, unknown minutes of queue.
10:20–11:10Main deck first, then glass floor. If the glass floor has a queue, skip it and come back after the skyline. Children remember the height more than the pane.
11:10Down. Do not add the top pod on a milky morning. Eat somewhere that is not the revolving restaurant unless the meal is the point of the day.

Itinerary B — sunset couple

ClockMove
T−90 minCheck the western horizon from the street, not from a forecast cartoon. If the sun is a white disc in haze, the observation deck will not save it.
T−45 minWalk from Union or a nearby streetcar stop. Sunset slots are crowded. Arrive at the start of the window, not the end.
WindowGate, security, lifts. You will share the main deck. That is the deal.
On deckPick a pane and stay. Circling the room hunting a private sunset is how people miss the colour. The top pod is extra height; take it only if the horizon is already working.
AfterThe revolving restaurant is expensive. If dinner is the plan, it is a different ticket and a different wait. If dinner is not the plan, leave while the lifts are still friendly.

Neither itinerary includes the harness walk outside. That operation has its own briefing clock and its own weather veto. Do not glue it onto a sunset slot and expect both to feel unhurried.
