Privacy, in plain plant language
This policy applies to https://cn-tower-tickets-online.com. It is written for people, including people who arrived from an advertisement, and it is meant to satisfy a straightforward reading of PIPEDA — Canada's federal private-sector privacy law.
Who we are
Toronto Tower Ticket Guide is an independent planning guide published by Gordie Hall in Toronto, Ontario. Postal address: P.O. Box 640, Station F, Toronto, ON M4Y 2N6, Canada. Email: [email protected]. Toronto Tower Ticket Guide is an independent planning guide. It is not affiliated with any attraction operator. We do not sell tickets and never process payments.
If you came from an advertisement
If you came from an advertisement, pause and read this paragraph. This site is a planning guide. It is not the attraction operator. It does not sell tickets. It never processes payments. An ad may have used planning words — tower, observation deck, glass floor, timed entry, Toronto skyline, 553 metres — because those are the facts of a visit. An ad did not turn these pages into a box office. We do not receive your card number. We do not complete a booking. If you want a ticket, you must deal with the operator on the operator's own terms. If you want to know whether haze will waste the trip, you are in the right place. Advertisers and ad networks involved in showing you that ad are separate organisations. Their cookies and identifiers, if any, are theirs. See also Cookies.
What we collect
These pages have no account system and no payment form. We do not ask for a card, a booking name, or a phone number. If you email us, we receive whatever you put in the message, plus standard mail metadata. If you write to the P.O. box, we receive paper. Server logs on the host may record an IP address, user agent, date, and requested path. That is ordinary web-server logging for security and fault-finding, not a marketing file.
What we do not collect
We do not run analytics tags, pixels, tag managers, or third-party fonts. We do not embed maps or other iframes. We do not sell personal information. We do not run a remarketing pool. We do not process payments, so we do not see payment data.
PIPEDA
The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) sets out how private-sector organisations in Canada may collect, use, and disclose personal information in the course of commercial activity. This guide does not sell tickets and does not process payments. To the extent PIPEDA applies to an independent publisher answering mail, we keep these rules:
- We identify ourselves on every page, including in the footer disclosure.
- We collect as little as the medium requires (email you send, or server logs).
- We use that information to answer you or to keep the site working, not to build a profile.
- We do not disclose your mail to unrelated parties except if the law requires it.
- You may write to ask what we hold about you from correspondence. There is no user database behind the pages.
- You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe we have mishandled your information.
Retention
Email is kept as long as needed to answer the thread, then in ordinary mail archives. Server logs rotate on the host's schedule. Paper is not scanned into a marketing system because there is not one.
Children
The guide is written for adults planning a visit, including families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through these pages.
